The only way i found to have them in my kingdom is for them to get swallowed by one of the main factions. As a minor faction, I never had any dialogue to hire them. However, what I ended up doing was just building an army of about 50% top tier archers and 50% top tier infantry and I was able to roll over castles with twice as many defenders as attackers. Once you take your first castle you can form armies as you'll have your own Kingdom. true.
